The Three Principles

Early in my coaching journey, I found myself in a year-long Three Principles practitioner course with Dr Aaron Turner. That understanding shifted something fundamental in me. For the first time that I consciously remember, I glimpsed that we are not what we think, and that we have a choice whether to identify with the thinking we experience.

But I kept bumping up against something.

While I could see the profound truth that when we let go of the thinking taking us away from peace, we naturally return to wellbeing, there was this nagging feeling I couldn't shake.

Something would recoil in me when I watched people find their way back to peace of mind and then... just stop there.

The Peace Trap

What I started noticing in the Three Principles world was this pattern: peace was being treated as the final destination. People would arrive at this beautiful state of calm and clarity, then park themselves there like they'd reached the summit and decided to set up camp.

I'd hear conversations about "being instead of doing" as if doing was somehow the enemy of enlightenment.

But something in me kept whispering: there has to be more to life than this? Because, honestly, when I practiced it (letting go of thought and moving into acceptance of what is) it didn’t feel very peaceful for long. It felt like I wanted to be doing something. But I kept hearing - there’s less to do than you think. I was so confused!

But something in me kept whispering: what if doing is actually an expression of your being?

Life force energy didn't seem to create us to be spiritual couch potatoes. Its very nature appears to be creation itself. It's always moving, always expressing, always becoming more of itself through us.

There's this spark in each of us that wants to create, to build, to express, to contribute.

What I've seen since then

The other two principles (mind and consciousness) point us to an energy force that not only lives within us, but that IS us. We are that infinite, whole essence always. you don't become passive. You become powerfully present. You don't stop doing - you start doing from a completely different place.

The infinite intelligence that we are isn’t simply saying to sit in meditation all day (it might for some) What if it wants to express itself through us in countless ways – creating businesses, writing books, having conversations, solving problems, building relationships, making art, changing lives?

I'm curious about this idea that when you're operating from that place of understanding – when you know you're not your thoughts and you're connected to something far greater than your personal mind – maybe your actions become effortless expressions of wisdom rather than ego-driven struggles.

What if you're not doing to prove anything? What if you're not doing to fill a void? What if you're doing because life itself is moving through you, and resistance to that movement is what creates the suffering?

What I'm sensing is that true wisdom knows when to be still and when to move. It knows when to listen and when to speak. It knows when to receive and when to give. It's dynamic, not static.

Maybe the principles aren't pointing us toward a life of spiritual hibernation. Maybe they're pointing us toward a life where we're so connected to our essence that our actions flow from wisdom rather than fear, from love rather than lack, from presence rather than pressure.

The Dance I'm Discovering

What I'm exploring through my own journey and witnessing with clients is this: perhaps the most powerful place to operate from is the dance between being and doing.

When you're grounded in your being – when you know who you really are beyond the noise of your thinking – maybe your doing becomes an expression of that truth. Maybe you're not doing to become something. Maybe you're doing because you already are something, and that something wants to express itself in the world.

I wonder if this is where real transformation happens. Not just in the peaceful moments of meditation, but in the dynamic moments of creation. Not just when you're connected to infinite intelligence, but when that intelligence is moving through you to touch the world.

What I'm Curious About

So here's what I'm wondering, whether you're familiar with the Three Principles or not: what if we're not meant to treat peace like a final destination?

What if we return to that place of calm and clarity whenever we've been caught up in the whirlwind of our thinking, but then let that peace fuel our action? What if we let that wisdom guide our doing? What if we let that connection to something greater express itself through our unique gifts and talents?

I'm starting to think the world doesn't need more people sitting in blissful inaction. Maybe it needs more people who are so connected to their essence that their actions become powerful expressions of love, wisdom, and creative force.

What if that's where real change happens? What if that's where transformation occurs? What if that's where the Three Principles become not just an understanding, but a way of living that transforms not only your own life, but the lives of everyone you touch?

The energy that created you seems to want to create through you. The question I'm sitting with isn't whether you should do or be.

The question that keeps coming up for me is: are you willing to let that creative force move through you?

What would you create if you knew you couldn't fail? If you're ready to explore the vision that's been calling you (the one you've been talking yourself out of), let's have that conversation.
